Unmasking Flights: Masks Are No Longer Required for Public Transportation

As of April 18, 2022, face masks are no longer federally required for air or ground public transportation. Major companies like Alaska Air Lines. Delta Air Lines, Amtrak, and Uber repealed their mask mandates after District Judge Katheryn Kimball Mizelle ruled that this regulation was unconstitutional and overreaching.

While the mask mandate has ended for planes, airports are free to make their own decisions. The Atlanta airport has made masks optional for employees, but airports in Chicago and NYC still require masks before passengers take off and after they land. MSP International Airport in our home state of Minnesota has not removed the mask mandate as of this writing,

Patrons are still free to make their own choices, by all means. Those who feel comfortable wearing a mask are still encouraged to do so, and those who prefer not to are allowed to make that choice. We are relieved and excited to see the beautiful faces of our friends and family!
